The Devils Garden

Plant lore, legends and mythology are intimately woven into human culture and history. Over the millennia some plants have become inextricably linked to malevolent forces. They have been given names like Devil’s Apple, Devil’s Shoestring, and Devil’s Claw. Plants like Mandrake are said to be possessed by powerful spirits, and Deadly Nightshade is said to be tended by the devil himself. In this workshop we explore some of the more infamous plants of the Devil’s Garden. Taking a look at their folklore and how they have become associated with death, the Devil and witchcraft.
